During the school year, many teachers from our primary and secondary classes hand each student a copy of a reading book from the school set. The pupils read the book gradually, week by week, under the teacher's guidance. All copies are then returned to the school.

Why did we choose to organise class book sets instead of asking the families to buy them every year? Read the brief article below to find out! β¬‡οΈ

The use of class book sets is a long-standing tradition at Chatterbox. These are English and French reading books that support our Primary and Secondary students every year. From Horrid Henry in Year 3, to Fantastic Mr. Fox in Year 4, through to Wonder, War Horse, Boy in the striped pyjamas and even Romeo and Juliet in Secondary, amongst others these books are carefully chosen to encourage reading, text analysis, and reflection. πŸ’‘πŸ‘©‍🏫

πŸ”‘ Why is this approach beneficial?
βœ… Guaranteed access: The original-language books are owned by the school and available in sufficient quantities for every class. No more trouble finding them in stores or waiting for deliveries. πŸ“¦βŒ
βœ… Program uniformity: All students work on the same, age appropriate, texts, making it easier for teachers to organize lessons and engaging text analysis activities. 🎯
βœ… Inclusivity: No one is left behind due to logistical issues or forgetfulness. Everyone has the same tools to actively participate. 🀝
βœ… Ease of monitoring: Knowing that every student has the book ensures the reading is completed, whether during holidays or in class. This helps create a clear and uninterrupted learning path.

βœ…Responsability: Children learn valuable lessons about responsibility and respect for shared resources.

πŸ“–βœ¨ Reading becomes a shared discovery. 🌟
