Hi Sandra, can you please introduce yourself?
- My name is Sandra, I’m 51 years old and I come from Vila Nova de Famalicão, a city near Porto in Portugal. In the past I studied piano at the conservatory of music and then I graduated as a music teacher. I currently teach music to children aged 10 to 12 years old in a public school called Agrupamento D. Maria II in Vila Nova de Famalicão.
Why are you here in Cagliari?
- I’m here for 10 days with the Erasmus+ program for teachers. I decided to take part in the program as I was really curious to see how teachers teach music in other countries and I also wanted to practice my English. I chose Cagliari because I had never been here before!
How is it going so far?
- I like it a lot here! It’s very different from Portugal, because here you do a lot more practical experiences in class than we do, and you also have different teachers in each class. I like the fact that the students are generally well behaved and aware of the school rules and I also noticed that teachers are all really happy and have a very good relationship with both their colleagues and the students.
